Meet the Executive Board
President
Breena Hope
This is Breena's 8th year on the board and 4th year as President. She has 3 children; a 2nd grader, a 5th grader and a 7th grader at WPMS. She loves taking an active role in her children's education and believes that parent involvement is a major predictor of student success. Breena was born and raised in southeastern Idaho. After high school she moved to Portland, OR where she obtained her BS in Administration of Justice from PSU and began her career as a Legal Assistant in Dependency Law. She later took some time to travel overseas with her husband. Shortly after returning, they started their family and eventually settled here in San Marcos. She loves the Richland and San Marcos Community and plans to continue to be involved throughout her children's educational career.
Recording Secretary
Isabelle La
Isabelle is serving as this year's Recording Secretary and has two children attending Richland Elementary, Lana entering 5th Grade and Lara entering 1st grade. She's excited to contribute her time and energy to serving the school, students and staff at Richland Elementary using her prior experience on prior Non-Profit and PTO boards for the last 4 consecutive years. She is originally from New Jersey and came to California to attend UC Berkeley, graduating with a Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration. In her past career, she served in both VP and Head of Operations roles for 10 years at various companies within the senior care and allied health industry. Currently, she owns a project management and business operations consulting company and is also launching a children's dress clothing line. In her spare time, she loves to travel, play pickleball, rock climb, stand-up paddle-board and seek out adventures to enjoy with her family.

Danielle
This is Danielle’s first year serving on the board. She is currently a SAHM with 3 kids a 2nd grader, TK, and a preschooler at Richland. She moved to San Marcos from the LA area in 2022 and immediately fell in love with the amazing community and is so excited to be an active member of a PTO that provides such amazing resources and programs for all children at Richland Elementary. When not volunteering or helping to organize upcoming events with the PTO she loves to spend time at the beach and camping with family.
Treasurer
Michelle McMurty
This is Michelle's 3rd year as Treasurer on the board. She has two kiddos, a 3rd grader and a 6th grader entering Woodland Park Middle. She is from Long Beach, but moved to the San Diego area 17 years ago, 10 of those in San Marcos. She has a BS degree in Chemistry from the University Of California San Diego. She is a virtual health and fitness coach, enjoys hiking, crocheting, pickleball, building lego sets and traveling. She loves being on the board and being able to contribute to the school in a meaningful way. And she has so much fun doing it!
