Get Involved

The FOR Club operates solely on our community members' generosity of time, funding and spirit.  Explore this page for several different opportunities in which you can become more involved.

Volunteer

We love volunteers! The FOR Club relies almost entirely on volunteers to operate.  We always need help staffing, decorating and tearing down our events and fundraisers.  Volunteer efforts help to provide these wonderful opportunities to our Mustangs. We greatly appreciate any help parents, family members, and students are able to offer.  Click the link below learn more about ongoing and upcoming Volunteer Opportunities and access our Volunteer Sign Up Forms. Thank you so much in advance for helping to support a thriving school community.

New District Volunteer Policy

The school district has changed their volunteer policy this year. Depending on how much you plan to volunteer you may need to complete some clearances. Please visit the district site to find out which clearances and documents you need to fill out in order to volunteer at the school. The school really needs us at parents to help out so please consider getting set up as a volunteer through the district. Thank you!

Pony Pals

Pony Pals is a year-long appreciation program that allows parent volunteers to provide small, meaningful gifts of gratitude to the instructors here at Richland.

Here's how it works:

  1. Parents sign up to be a Pony Pal for 1 (or more) teachers/aides for the whole school year.

  2. Pony Pal parents (secretly) gift their assigned teacher small, fun gifts throughout the school year using a "Favorite Things" form filled out by the teacher. Most Pony Pals give one small gift per month, dropped off in the front office.

  3. Pony Pal names are kept secret until a fun reveal at the end of the school year.

Room Parents

Room parents are classroom volunteers.  If you volunteer as a Room Parent you will get the opportunity to work closely with your Mustang's teacher and help where needed.  Traditionally you would run the classroom booth during the Halloween Carnival. However, as we navigate this year, FOR Club is working on ways to keep the Room Parents involved with the Halloween Carnival.  TK - 3rd Room Parents will have their choice of one spring event to help with, 4th grade Room Parents will help with Sailing On and 5th grade Room Parents will help with the Spring dance. If you are interested, please speak with your student's teacher.  Click below for event sign ups and more information.

Open Coordinator Positions

This year promises to be an exciting year for the FOR Club as we continue to strive for the balance of proud traditions and new opportunities.  In an effort to advance this goal, we hope to enhance the structure of the Club and expand involvement opportunities forming a variety of different Committees.  Committees will meet at their convenience and will be expected to report back to the FOR Club Executive Board during the length of the nature of the committee. Click the link below to learn more or sign up.

  • Gratitude Coordinator - We are looking for someone who has an attitude of gratitude that can help with creative ways to show thanks and appreciation toward volunteers, staff or anyone on behalf of the FOR Club.

  • Parking Coordinator - Every month, the FOR Club has two front-and-center parking spots that we give to two lucky winners. We need a coordinator to help organize and oversee this process. One parking spot is raffled and one parking spot is auctioned online so this role would just need someone to help update this every month and make sure it runs smoothly.

  • Lunchtime Tournament Coordinator - Principal Mandy Jackson is bringing lunchtime tournaments as a new event at the school and we need help with someone to oversee the program. Primarily, these tournaments may be kickball or basketball, but helping to organize this for the students.

  • Parking Spot Raffle and Auction Coordinator

  • Family Dance Coordinator

  • Golf Tournament Coordinator

Meetings

Attending meetings is a great way to stay updated on all upcoming events and on ways to get involved.  The FOR Club holds meetings every second Tuesday of the month from 4:30-5:30pm.   Expect reports from the Principal Mandy Jackson, the FOR Club Executive Board and Committee Coordinators. Support

One of the core values at Richland Elementary FOR Club is the belief that everyone deserves access to a high quality education. Our commitment is to create that opportunity for all current and future students. We are always appreciative of support from our San Marcos community, which helps us provide an exceptional educational experience.  Perhaps you want to contribute to Richland but you just don't have enough time to attend an event.  Perhaps you want to support on top of attending events and participating in fundraisers.  Whatever the situation, donations are now accepted by clicking below.
